Enrolling at RNPS

Ringwood North PS welcomes you to consider us when enrolling your child in school. We offer a wide array of opportunities to students in a caring, dynamic and innovative environment and we provide an excellent level of education to all students. The most important thing to remember when enrolling is that any question can be answered with a quick phone call or email.

Victorian Government schools are among the best in the country. To learn more about enrolling in a school in Victoria:

FUTURE PREP ENROLMENTS

If your child is ready to start school next year then now is the time to contact us to book a tour and get to know the school. We encourage families to start the enrolment process early in the year, tours for new Preps run from February to June. Just contact the office to find a suitable time or come along to our Open Day or Open Night.

SHOULD MY CHILD START SCHOOL NEXT YEAR?

Children born before April 30 can start school in the year they turn 5. Some parents may decide after discussion with the kinder to wait one more year but this is not always necessary.

Children born after May 1 should start school in the year they turn 6.

WHAT DO WE NEED?

You will need your child’s birth certificate and immunisation records when you enrol.

CAN I ENROL VERY EARLY?

If your child is not starting school next year we won’t enrol your child yet. However, we do encourage you to come along to our community events to get to know the school.

MOVING SCHOOLS

If your child is currently studying at another school but you are planning to move into the area, contact us any time to arrange a tour and/or to discuss possible enrolment.

Families moving from other schools in Australia are requested to please bring copies of past school reports to assist our teachers.

Please be aware that RNPS has a 1:1 iPad Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for students in Years 4-6.

RNPS welcomes families from overseas and those who are new to Australia and living close to our school. Students will need to have their own visa to study in a Victorian school, so please ensure you have visa details, immunisation and past schooling ready when enrolling. Many visa types allow families to enrol directly at a school, however some others may require you to contact the International division first. See: study.vic.gov.au
Families with Australian citizenship or Permanent residence should contact the school directly.
